Biography of Michael J. Dickinson |

In early 1983 Mr. Dickinson founded Innovations PLUS, a
consulting firm specializing in high technology,
quality, and productivity related support services
including Quality, Management, and Marketing Consulting,
Technical Writing, and On-Site Seminars and Training
Programs. The firm offers training programs on
Coordinate Measuring Machines, Geometric Dimensioning
and Tolerancing, Process Capability, Statistical Process
Control, Cost of Quality, Computer Aided Quality, ISO
9000 Series Standards, Sales and Marketing, and many
other topics of interest to manufacturing companies.
Innovations PLUS provides in-depth assistance with
selection and application of CMMs, optical and video
inspection systems, Lasers, measurement components and
systems, and computers and software for Quality
Assurance, Information Management, and Sales and
Marketing applications.
Prior to founding Innovations PLUS, Mr. Dickinson was a
founder of Hansford Data Systems, Inc. where he was
Senior Vice President of Engineering. This company was
formed to create software products for Quality Assurance
applications.
Before Hansford Data Systems was founded, Mr. Dickinson
was General Manager of the Rapid-Check Division of
Hansford Manufacturing Corporation. This division
manufactured Coordinate Measuring Machines which rely
heavily on the fields of quality, electronic,
mechanical, and software engineering.
Mr. Dickinson has had extensive presentation experience
in trade shows, conferences and seminars on a local and
national level. In addition to major presentations, he
has participated in many ASQ (American Society for
Quality) and AIIE (American Society of Industrial
Engineers) seminars and dinner meetings where he has
been the featured speaker. He has provided feature
articles for publications such as Quality, Tooling &
Production, and Commline.
Mr. Dickinson is a graduate of Rochester Institute of
Technology with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He has
participated in numerous seminars and training programs
including the Management College presented by The
Quality College, Upper Management and Quality Control
presented by J. M. Juran, Training for Quality presented
by Control Data Corp. and Technicomp Inc., Documentation
for ISO 9000 Compliance presented by ASQC and The
Victoria Group Inc., and the registered ISO 9000 Lead
Assessor of Quality Systems seminar presented by Perry
Johnson, Inc.
He is a member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers) and AAAS (American Association
for the Advancement of Science), a senior member of ASQ
(American Society for Quality) and SME (Society of
Manufacturing Engineers), and an associate member of
RTMA (Rochester, New York Chapter of the National
Tooling and Machining Association). |
